Mommy to the Rescue Program

Helping Families in Crisis, One Essential at a Time

Program Overview

 

Mommy to the Rescue is The Mom Cave’s emergency assistance program, created to support families in Indianapolis and surrounding areas by providing essential baby items. Whether it’s diapers, wipes, clothing, or support for moms and dads in need of relief, we’re here to lend a helping hand.

What We Provide

​

We offer a range of essential items for both children and parents to help ease the burden during times of crisis. 

 

Please Note: The items provided through the Mommy to the Rescue program are based on the current availability of donations and back stock inventory. While we strive to meet your specific needs, we cannot guarantee the availability of all requested items. Larger items like strollers, pack-n-plays, bassinets, and similar essentials are based on inventory availability.

Baby Essentials:

  • Diapers (all sizes)

  • Baby wipes

  • Bottles & feeding supplies

  • Baby clothing (newborn to 5T)

​

Safe Sleep & Travel Items:

  • Pack ‘n Plays

  • Car seats

  • Strollers 

​

Resource Connections:

  • Referrals to community partners for mental health services, job placement, housing, and more

Who We Help

Families, single parents, and caregivers in Indianapolis and surrounding areas experiencing a crisis or hardship. We aim to make sure that no parent has to choose between basic needs and their well-being.

Turnaround Time & Business Hours

  • Applications are processed within 5–7 business days of submission.

  • Our business days and hours are Tuesday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM.

  • We are closed on Mondays, weekends, and major holidays.

Please note: All communication, fulfillment, and delivery coordination occurs only during business hours.

Delivery Policy Update (for Mommy to the Rescue Program)

Due to limited staff and resources, deliveries are currently reserved for families facing urgent needs and who are unable to travel due to lack of transportation, health concerns, or other emergency circumstances.

📍Delivery is available ONLY in the following counties:

  • Marion

  • Hancock

  • Hamilton

  • Hendricks

  • Greenwood area

🚫 We do NOT deliver to:

  • Boone

  • Brown

  • Morgan

  • Putnam

  • Shelby

  • Or any areas outside our delivery range.

If you live outside a 30-minute radius from our pickup site, we ask that you:

  • Arrange a pickup by a trusted friend or family member, or

  • Connect with us to discuss eligibility for delivery, which is offered on a case-by-case basis.

 

We appreciate your understanding as we work to serve as many families as possible with care and consistency. 💕

Eligibility Requirements:

✅ Must be a resident of Indiana
✅ Must be an expectant parent or have at least one child aged 5 or under
✅ Submit a completed Mommy to the Rescue application
✅ Provide a valid photo ID
✅ Consent to provide accurate information and allow follow-up from The Mom Cave team

​

Program Policies:

  • One Request per Family per Cycle: Families may apply for assistance once every 90 days (quarterly). This allows us to support as many families as possible with our available resources. After receiving assistance, families are welcome to reapply in the next cycle.

  • Application Review and Response: Applications are reviewed within 1–2 business days. A team member will contact you within 24–48 business hours to confirm details and next steps.

  • Pickup/Delivery of Items: Once approved and fulfilled, we will coordinate pickup or delivery.  The entire process typically takes 3–7 business days from application review to receiving items.

  • Follow-Up Communication: By applying, families agree to be contacted by The Mom Cave team for follow-up to ensure support and gather feedback.

Our Mommy to the Rescue program is currently offering diapers and wipes only, while supplies last.

🗓 Last day to request assistance: June 13, 2025
🚫 The program will pause over the summer and reopen October 6, 2025.
